When I look back through my years of posting to this blog, there always seems to be an absence of posts through the holidays, and this year was no exception. Despite my best intentions to keep up with the posting during this time of year I can never manage it. The holidays in the restaurant world are just down right crazy. This past year especially so. Nonetheless, I’ve still been drawing and painting a ton. Maybe even more than usual. I’ve been playing with some new pencils. The Cretacolor Aqua Monoliths, which are a no-wood water soluble colored pencil. I hope to spend more time doing a full page with them sometime soon. So far I’ve enjoyed them. Softer colors then other water solubles, but very versatile. I’ve been mixing media, india ink, watercolor, gouache, and colored inks to just try and loosen up a bit. My wife Katie and I are expecting a little girl come May, so those preparations have kept us both busy as well. Looking forward to posting more in the coming weeks as my schedule has regained some sort of normalcy. Thanks for visiting.
